Dawson's Guide to Colorado's Fourteeners, Volume 1

CoverPhotographer and writer, Louis W. Dawson lives in Carbondale, Colorado, with his wife Lisa and son Louis. He is the first person in history to have skied down all of Colorado's fourteeners; moreover, he has climbed all of the fourteeners at least once and many of them several times. He has logged more than 30 ascents of Pyramid Peak, four ascents of the Diamond face on Longs Peak, and many other days on the fourteeners hike routes, which he enjoys as much as the technical climbs. His many winter ascents of the fourteeners include new winter routes on Pyramid Peak and Capitol Peak. Dawson began climbing in Colorado at an early age and is known for his pioneer climbing in the Aspen area, as well as his other guide books: Colorado High Routes and Colorado Tenth Mountain Trails. He is a member of the Outdoor Writers' Association of America and Colorado Mountain Club.

"THIS BOOK INSPIRES"

"Dawson has written a practical, down-to-earth treatise on the mountains that have been his home for nearly 30 years. Replete with maps, photos, and other visual aids, and sprinkled with the kind of hard-won knowledge only gained from many months spent in the backcountry in all seasons, Dawson's Guide to Colorado's Fourteeners puts hikers, skiers, and climbers in the right place at the right time. But beyond the basics, this book inspires the reader to explore and experience the wilderness magic of the high peaks of the Colorado Rockies."
